הכינוס השנתי ה-71 של האיגוד הקרדיולוגי בישראל בשיתוף האיגוד הישראלי לכירורגית לב וחזה, יתקיים ב-3 – 4 ביוני, 2024,  במרכז הכנסים אקספו (גני התערוכה), תל אביב.

בכינוס ה-71 נמשיך במנהגנו לכנס את הקהילה לשם עדכונים ברפואה, בחידושים ובטכנולוגיה ונשלב הצגות מדעיות מקוריות והרצאות מוזמנות בחלוקה למליאה ומושבים מקבילים בתתי-ההתמחויות השונות של הקרדיולוגיה וכירורגית הלב. במקביל תתקיים תערוכה של חברות תרופות וציוד רפואי אשר יציגו מיכשור וטכנולוגיות חדשניות ברפואת הלב.

 

הכינוס השנה ממשיך לקיים את המושבים החשובים המוקדשים למתמחים ולצוות הפרארפואי. במהלך הכינוס יחולקו מלגות הצטיינות למתמחים ורופאים העומדים בפני השתלמויות עמיתים בחו"ל.

Sa’ar Minha, MD

Biography

Sa’ar Minha MD is a professor of cardiology at Tel-Aviv University, Israel, and the director of interventional cardiology at Shamir Medical Center, Be’er Yaakov in Israel- He also serves as the chairman of the interventional cardiology working group under the Israel Heart Society. Prof. Minha earned his MD degree from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Shamir Medical Center. His interventional cardiology fellowship was completed in 2014 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC. Prof Minha is the co-author of over 110 original research publications. His main interests are complex coronary interventions combining physiology and imaging for optimizing results and outcomes, interventions for pulmonary embolism, renal denervation for treating hypertension, and interventions under mechanical circulatory support.

Stanley Nattel, MD

Professor of Medicine and Paul-David Chair in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, University of Montreal

Biography

Dr. Nattel undertook MD, Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology training at McGill, then cardiology and research training at Indiana University and University of Pennsylvania. He returned to McGill in 1981 and in 1987 transferred to the Montreal Heart Institute, where he directed the Research Center between 1990 and 2004. He is presently Paul-David Chair in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and Director of the Electrophysiology Research Program. He is Editor in Chief of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, Associate Editor of Cardiovascular Research, Rhythm Disorders Section Editor in JACC, and is on many other editorial boards. His h-index is 155; he has over 130,000 citations. His research focuses on clinically-relevant mechanisms of cardiac bioelectricity.

Maurice Enriquez-Sarano, MD, FACC, FAHA, FESC

Biography

Dr. Maurice Enriquez-Sarano is a cardiologist with expertise in heart valve diseases and cardiac imaging. He got his MD degree and medical training from Sorbonne University, Paris, France.  He joined the Mayo Clinic, was the founding director of the Heart Valve Clinic and Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and was a founding member and past-president of the Heart Valve Society. Dr. Sarano authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with h-index 108 (Scopus) to 118 (Google) and mentored numerous trainees who became leading scholars in valve diseases. He is Senior Scientist at the Minneapolis Heart Institute and founder of ValThera (ValThera.io), a startup developing innovative transcatheter treatment for tricuspid regurgitation.  He is a member of “La Chaine de L’espoir” and board member of “United Surgeons for Children”, supporting the treatment of patients affected by Valvular Heart Diseases in low-resources countries.

Roy Beinart, MD, FESC

Biography

Prof. Dr. Roy Beinart is the director of the Davidai Arrhythmia Center, the Heart Institute at the sheba medical center. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmia (Electrophysiology), pacemaker implantation, intra-cardiac defibrillator (ICD) implantation, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) and conduction system pacing, as well as simple and complex cardiac ablations.

In addition, Dr. Beinart research focuses in treating of atrial fibrillation and prevention of sudden cardiac death. He is also involved in various cardio-vascular innovations.

A. Michael Lincoff, MD

Biography

Dr. Lincoff is Vice Chair for Research and an interventional cardiologist in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.  He is a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and holds the Charles and Charlotte Fowler Endowed Chair for Cardiovascular Research.  His research activities focus on development of metabolic or antithrombotic therapies to prevent or reduce progression of atherosclerosis or optimize management of acute coronary syndromes or percutaneous coronary intervention.  He has served as principal investigator or steering committee member for over 50 trials in ischemic and cardiometabolic diseases.

Dr. Limor Ilan Bushari

Biography

Dr. Limor Ilan Bushari , internal medicine and cardiology specialist.
Director of the Cardiovascular Division at Emek Medical Center, Afula. Former director of the non – invasive cardiology unit at Emek Medical Center. Graduated two year fellowship in Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN .
An expert in echocardiography, interventional echocardiography , 3D imaging and speckle tracking.
Research interest involves valvular heart disease and cardio oncology.

Chaim Lotan, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.E.S.C.

Biography

Professor Chaim Lotan was born in Hadera, Israel in 1952. He completed medical training at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in 1979 and concluded his specialization in Cardiology in 1987.

He founded the Israeli Working Group for Interventional Cardiology and served as its Secretary General for 4 years. In 1996 he was appointed Director of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization in Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem and was appointed as the director of the Hadassah Heart Institute in 2000 (current position).

Prof. Lotan is the chairperson of the Ministry of Health Committee for Certification & Licensing of Coronary Stents in the Israel and has been in addition the principle investigator in many of the leading studies in interventional cardiology and coronary stents, with many publications in this field. He served as President of the Israel Heart Society from May 2011-April 2013.

A prominent figure in the world of interventional cardiology, Prof. Lotan has been involved in a number of biomedical innovative ventures and serves as Medical Officer/Advisor in several start-up medical technology companies in the fields of interventional cardiology and cardiac imaging.

 

Prof. Lotan has been the Medical director of Arineta – a breakthrough CT system for the cardiovascular imaging and the founder and Medical director of Cordio – a mature startup company using advanced voice recognition and AI for the early detection of patients with heart failure deterioration.

 

Professor Lotan and Professor Rafael Beyar together instigated in 2006 and have since organized annually the scientific meeting "Innovation in Cardiovascular Intervention" (“ICI”), the leading international congress on this important and timely subject, as well as its satellite symposium, The Academy of Innovation. Chaim Lotan also recently initiated a new inter-disciplinary course on the bio innovation process at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Ron Waksman, MD

Biography

Ron Waksman, MD, FACC, MSCAI Associate Director, Division of Cardiology, MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) and Director of Cardiovascular Research and Advanced Education for the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. With over 20 years of experience in leading edge medical technologies, Dr. Waksman is a world-renowned interventional cardiologist and is a highly sought-after Principal Investigator for pre-clinical and clinical studies conducted in the United States and abroad. Dr Waksman has performed over 5000 coronary interventions throughout his career.

His current research interests include brachytherapy for restenosis prevention bioabsorbable/ biodegradable stents, HDL therapy, intracoronary imaging, valvular heart disease and catheter-based treatment of renal denervation. Dr. Waksman has authored/co-authored more than 310 published manuscripts and over 230 abstracts. He is also the author/co-author of more than 20 book chapters and the editor/co-editor of six books in the field of cardiology. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine and is on the editorial boards of numerous prominent scientific journals such as the Journal of American College of Cardiology and the American Journal of Cardiology.

In addition to his clinical and research endeavors, Dr. Waksman is a professor of medicine (cardiology) at Georgetown University; he is the co-director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program at MedStar Washington Hospital Center; and the course director of the annual Cardiovascular Revascularization Therapies (CRT) meeting, an event that presents multiple, concurrent scientific meetings to medical and industry professionals in the field of cardiology. Dr. Waksman is an active member of several prominent national and international professional societies, and is the recipient of awards and honors for his expertise in brachytherapy, interventional cardiology, and clinical investigation.

He earned his medical degree from the Ben Gurion University in Israel and completed residencies in medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology at Hadassah University in Jerusalem, Israel. Subsequently, Dr. Waksman completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology in 1994 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Rodney H Falk, MD FACC

Dr. Gideon Cohen, MD, MSc., PhD FRCS(C)

Biography

Dr. Gideon Cohen is Head of the Division of Cardiac Surgery and Medical Director of the Schulich Heart Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto, and holds the Bernard Goldman Chair in Cardiac Surgery.

Dr. Cohen completed both his Medical degree and Residency training at the University of Toronto. During this time, he earned a PhD in Molecular Biology under the auspices of the Surgical Scientist Program.

Dr. Cohen undertook his Fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic in 2001, where he was awarded the Charles H. Bryan Prize in surgery.

Dr. Cohen returned to Sunnybrook in 2002, and after a 5 year tenure as Program Director, was appointed Head of the Division in 2013. He has extensive experience in valvular heart disease, with a special interest in mitral repair. Currently, he serves as the Surgical Director of the Transcatheter Mitral Valve Program at the Schulich Heart Centre.

Dr. Elliot Smith

Biography

Elliot Smith is a Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre and Royal Free Hospitals, London, where he is the Lead for Higher Risk Revascularisation and Chronic Occlusion (CTO) PCI. He is an honorary consultant at Hammersmith Hospital and Great Ormond Street. He was Director of Interventional Training at Barts. He has an international reputation in the field of complex coronary interventions and chronic occlusions. He has been a proctor for CTO procedures since 2013, regularly participating in live case demonstrations nationally and internationally.

Debbie A. Rinde-Hoffman, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Debbie A. Rinde-Hoffman, M.D., F.A.C.C., is the TGH Heart & Vascular Institute Vice-Chief of Business Development and Physician Network. For decades, she led the TGH Heart Transplant Program, establishing the LVAD program, Heart Failure Center of Excellence, co-establishing Florida’s first comprehensive Cardiogenic Shock Program, and establishing the reputation of TGH’s Advanced Heart Failure Program as one of the world’s best. Dr. Hoffman completed her medical training, including medical school, internal medicine internship, residency, and fellowship in cardiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, with special training and proficiency in nuclear cardiology, cardiac transplantation, echocardiography, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, excimer laser angioplasty, and intracoronary stent placement. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, advanced heart failure and heart transplant by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition, she served as chief of the Department of Internal Medicine at Tampa General Hospital and as the medical director of the cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support teams. She is also an affiliate associate professor at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Rinde-Hoffman has had numerous articles published in the area of cardiac transplantation. She is a sought-after speaker on issues related to women with heart disease, congestive heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical assist devices. She is a member of numerous professional and scientific societies including the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and Florida Medical Association.

Amir Lerman, MD

Biography

Amir Lerman, MD. Is an endowed named Barbara Lips professor of medicine and a consultant in the department of cardiovascular disease at the Mayo graduate school of medicine. Dr. Lerman serves as an associate chair of the department of Cardiology and the Director of the cardiovascular research center at Mayo Clinic and the medical director of the chest pain and coronary physiology clinic. Dr. Lerman serves as the Director Mayo-Israeli start-up companies initiative and on the faculty member of the Merage Institute for medical innovation.  Dr. Lerman graduated from the Technion school of Medicine in Haifa Israel and completed his training in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and invasive cardiology at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Leman interest is coronary physiology and imaging, regenerative medicine, innovative technologies and digital health. Dr. Lerman published more than 650 manuscripts, book chapters and reviews; the NIH, AHA, and several foundations support his research.
